What you need to know
First start sharing on the computer that owns the content, then send its viewing link. The link opens a live view, not a saved video or a public document. Keep the sender's page running. If you need to see someone else's screen instead, use an invitation and ask them to approve capture on their computer.
Step-by-step setup
Start a live room
Open the casting page on your computer, choose Start sharing my screen and select the content in the browser picker.
Send the correct link
Copy the viewing link shown in the room, not the address of the casting page. Paste it into a private conversation, or let a phone or tablet scan the room's QR code.
Have the viewer open it
The viewer opens the link in a compatible browser. If prompted to play, they should use the on-screen playback button. On paid plans, share the room password separately when using one.
Stop the live view
Stop sharing when the review ends. There is no stored replay in the link. If you start a new normal cast, send the link shown in that new room.
Compatibility and troubleshooting
A desktop computer sends the screen; phones and tablets can receive it. A loading or disconnected viewer should check that the sender is still sharing and that the full viewing URL was copied. Retry playback or the connection, then check another allowed network if necessary. Strict networks may block the connection despite TURN fallback.
Privacy and session limits
Anyone who receives a valid viewing link may attempt to join, subject to room password and viewer limits. Avoid posting it publicly. Free supports one viewer; Pro supports up to three and Premium up to five. Paid plans provide room passwords. Encryption protects transport but does not prevent a viewer from taking a screenshot or making their own recording.
When this is useful
- ✓ Review a website change in an existing team chat.
- ✓ Walk a client through a proposal while speaking on the phone.
- ✓ Let someone follow a desktop workflow from a tablet.
A live link versus a file or meeting invitation
A screenshot or exported file is easier to review later, but cannot show changing menus or a sequence of actions. A screen-sharing link is live and ends with the active session; it is not a replacement for sending the underlying document.
A scheduled meeting invitation organizes a call. A ZeroCast viewing link opens the current screen-sharing room directly. If the viewer needs to become the screen sender, ask them to start their own cast or send them a remote-support invitation.
Frequently asked questions
Is the link a recording I can open later?
No. It shows an active session. Stopping the sender stops the live screen; ZeroCast does not keep a video replay at that URL.
Can I send the link to several people?
You can send it, but simultaneous viewing is limited by the sender's plan: one on Free, three on Pro and five on Premium.
What is the difference between a viewing link and an invitation?
A viewing link lets the recipient watch your screen. An invitation lets the recipient choose and share their desktop screen back to the person who created the invitation.
