Screen mirroring website — no download

If you need someone to see your desktop now, a screen mirroring website can be simpler than sending a recording or setting up a meeting. ZeroCast captures a screen or window in your desktop browser and displays it live in another browser through a link, with no download or extension.

What you need to know

Here, online screen mirroring means live viewing of a desktop screen, not remote control or automatic discovery of nearby TVs. Free online screen mirroring is available within the Free plan's daily allowance and one-viewer limit. The sender must approve capture on a computer; the viewer opens the link without registering. A phone can view but cannot mirror its entire screen from this website.

Step-by-step setup

1

Choose a suitable desktop browser

Open ZeroCast over HTTPS in desktop Chrome or Edge, or a compatible Firefox or Safari version. Open the content you will demonstrate and close unrelated notifications. If the system requests screen-recording permission, approve it for that browser.

2

Share the smallest useful area

Start sharing and select the intended window, screen or tab in the browser picker. A single application window can reduce accidental disclosure. Keep the sending computer awake and leave its sharing tab open.

3

Send the viewing link

Copy the room link into your existing chat or let a phone viewer scan its QR code. The receiver opens the link in a WebRTC-compatible browser. A TV must open it itself and pass a playback test; it is not automatically discovered.

4

Check playback and stop

Ask the viewer to confirm that the picture is readable. They may need to press Play or unmute audio; sound capture depends on the sender's browser and OS. When finished, stop sharing in ZeroCast or the browser and confirm capture has ended.

Compatibility and troubleshooting

No download still requires browser capture permission, a compatible player and internet access for setup. Desktop Chrome and Edge offer the broadest capture options; Firefox and Safari vary by platform. Mobile browsers can watch but do not provide full-device screen sending in this flow. If playback stalls, keep both tabs open, check permissions and retry on an allowed network. A relay can help when direct WebRTC is blocked, but cannot guarantee access through company restrictions. Protected video may appear black.

Privacy and session limits

Free includes one viewer, a watermark and up to 1080p, with 15 sending minutes per day for guests or 40 for registered Free users. Guest minutes still count after signing in, and invited sharing uses the sender's allowance. Media is encrypted end to end and is not stored by ZeroCast; a relay can only forward encrypted packets. Share the link only with intended viewers, who can still take screenshots. Paid plans add capabilities such as more viewers and room passwords; see the current pricing page before choosing a plan.

When this is useful

  • ✓ Show a customer a browser workflow during an existing call, without a meeting invite.
  • ✓ Review a document or prototype with one colleague using a private viewing link.
  • ✓ Let a phone or tablet viewer see an application running on your computer.

Online mirroring, recordings and traditional casting

A live link shows changes as you make them. A screen recording is better when the receiver will watch later, but you must create and share a file; ZeroCast's website does not host a recording library. Choose a window for a live review and use your existing call or the session's voice and text features when discussion is needed.

AirPlay or a TV casting app may fit a supported local device ecosystem, especially for sending an entire phone screen. A browser link instead connects viewers who can open a compatible web page, including remote viewers. It cannot control another computer, bypass DRM or guarantee TV playback. For a stable nearby display, consider HDMI; for meetings needing schedules or managed participants, use a meeting service.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a free screen mirroring website?

Yes, within Free limits: one viewer, a watermark and 1080p, with 15 sending minutes daily as a guest or 40 as a registered Free user. This is not unlimited free mirroring; guest time still counts after sign-in.

Does screen mirroring with no download need an extension?

No extension or desktop app is required for this workflow. The sending desktop browser still needs capture support and your permission; the receiving browser needs WebRTC playback.

Can I mirror an iPhone or Android screen online?

Not from a mobile browser using this workflow. Use a computer to send. An iPhone or Android device can open the viewing link to watch that computer's screen.

Can the viewer operate my computer?

No. The viewer sees the area you selected; ZeroCast does not grant mouse, keyboard or unattended desktop access.

Is online screen viewing private?

Media is encrypted end to end and ZeroCast does not store the screen video. Keep viewing links private and stop before showing sensitive data, because a viewer can capture what they see.

Will online mirroring play on a TV?

Only a TV browser with compatible WebRTC and video playback can work. Test the actual television or use HDMI or its supported native casting method if the stream cannot play.
